Helical flights (also known as sectional helices) are spiral-shaped plates welded to the shaft of a pile. As the pile rotates into the ground, the flights generate torque, pull the shaft downward, and transfer loads into the soil.
Our flights are typically made from flat bar, square bar, round bar, or plate. The cross-section tapers naturally from the inner diameter to the outer edge, allowing smoother penetration and tighter tolerances during installation.
Unlike multi-welded flight segments, we produce continuous, one-piece flights. This minimises the need for welding splices, reduces material stress, and improves both structural consistency and installation accuracy.
We manufacture a wide variety of flight profiles to suit different pile sizes, applications, and installation conditions:
Sectional flights
One-piece continuous flights
Stainless steel flights
Ribbon and cut flights
Cut and folded flights
Tapered and coned flights
Canted and compressing flights
Large-diameter flights
Screw pile and Hardox flights
Hydro pump and custom applications
Precision-formed for smooth installation and soil cutting
Tighter tolerances than conventional flights
Reduced welding, fewer splices, stronger joints
Manufactured in-house for better quality and cost control
Custom flighting available to suit your pile specs and ground conditions
