For foundation repairs, helical piles are installed adjacent to the existing structure, typically at a slight angle, to allow direct load transfer. Once the pile reaches the required depth and torque, a specialised underpinning bracket is secured to both the structure and the pile. This transfers the building load away from the failing foundation and onto the newly installed deep foundation system.
Underpinning brackets are L-shaped components that fit beneath and against the side of an existing footing. The horizontal portion slides under the foundation, while the vertical section aligns tightly along its side. Once in position, the bracket connects to the installed pile, allowing the structure’s weight to be shifted safely and permanently onto the helical system.
This method is ideal for:
Homes or buildings showing signs of foundation settlement
Structures built on reactive or unstable soil
Heritage or legacy buildings requiring non-invasive remediation
Any project where excavation and downtime must be minimised
We offer a range of bracket and cap configurations, custom-built to suit different site needs and structural types:
L Brackets: Commonly used in residential foundation repairs
U Brackets: Ideal for timber-framed decks and boardwalks
Adjustable Caps: Useful for contractors who need to fine-tune the height after pile installation
Each bracket is engineered for durability and manufactured in-house to ensure structural performance and correct alignment under load.
Fast installation with minimal excavation
No heavy demolition required
Immediate load transfer once installed
Custom bracket design and manufacturing available
Suitable for confined or sensitive environments
